About Us
The Flatbush Tool Library is a member/volunteer community library aiming to make tool access and repair a community endeavor. This initiative is grassroots, and member participation will make all the difference. Together we will empower ourselves, share tools and strengthen community.

Why?
We Envision a Flatbush that Runs on Solidarity
We believe that everyone in Flatbush should have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
It doesn’t make sense for 100 people on the same block to collectively each buy a drill that will sit and gather dust between uses.
We envision a Flatbush that runs on a solidarity economy that cycles cooperation, mutual aid, and community amongst neighbors who together create a more sustainable and just local economy.
By working together and pooling our resources, we can create a more inclusive and equitable economy that benefits everyone, not just the wealthy, powerful and selectively individualist. We aim to empower ideas, share tools and build community while strengthening existing relationships between neighbors and fostering new ones.
